Barwani, MP, Aug 21 (UNI) Reiterating a demand for a Central Bureau of Investigation probe into a vehicle-purchase scam relating to Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's wife, Congress state President Subhash Yadav has warned that his party might move court.

''We are going to stage sit-in and demonstrations at the state capital and all block headquarters on August 24,'' Mr Yadav said during a press conference at this district's Sendhwa last evening.

Trashing Bharatiya Janshakti (BJ) President and former Chief Minister Uma Bharti's allegation that vested interests were preventing the Congress from fulfilling its role as the state's main opposition, Mr Yadav said that Ms Bharti was struggling to re-enter the BJP.

''The Congress performed its role at every level and placed the government in the dock by displaying necessary belligerence. Any party should be allowed to work after it has obtained the public mandate,'' he felt.

Responding to a query about towering Congress leaders placing question marks on his leadership capability and urging the high command to remove him, Mr Yadav said that everybody was free to speak their mind but the significant thing was that all were united under party supremo Sonia Gandhi.

On Union Minister Kamal Nath's statement that he could handle next year's assembly election responsibility as a prospective chief ministerial candidate, Mr Yadav said the high command had to take the decision.

''The percentage of BJ votes and prevention of division of Congress votes in bypolls are good indications,'' he claimed.
