Mr Khanna had earlier informed the High Court that people were selling and purchasing the land which was already acquired by the Government. He said about 550-600 acres of land notified and acquired for building the Rohini project was being illegally occupied by the land grabbers.

The colonies include Deep Vihar, Begum Pur, Jain Colony, Lakhi Ram Park, Dhruv enclave, Ashok Nagar, Rama Vihar, Sharma Enclave, Baldev Vihar and Mubarkpur dabas.

Delhi government's lawyer, Sanjay Poddar told the Court Comissioner that the acquisition proceedings have been completed and the land will be handed over to the DDA.

DDA lawyer Ajay Verma told the Court that they will take the possession of the vacant land.

The court had directed the DDA to ensure that the project proceeds without delay to prevent illegal occupants from grabbing it.
