K'taka to set up new Reserve Police Battalion

Bangalore, Aug 21 (UNI) Karnataka will set up a new battalion reserve police called India Reserve Battalion by appointing 700 constables.

Deputy Inspector General of Police (Training and Recruitment) Sunil Agarwal said the new battalion would be located at Munirabad in Koppal district.

The new battalion would be deployed mainly in Naxal-affected areas in the state.

The battalion would also be pressed into service in other parts of the country for any emergent situation.

The eligible candidates would be selected through an entrance examination followed by physical endurance test, an official release here said.
