K'taka to create new Reserve Police battalion
Bangalore, Aug 21 (UNI) To tackle the increasing menace of banned naxalite outfits, Karnataka will create a new battalion reserve police called India Reserve Battalion by appointing 700 constables.
Deputy Inspector General of Police (Training and Recruitment) Sunil Agarwal said in a statement here today that the new battalion would be located at Munirabad in Koppal district the Eastern part of the state.
The new battalion would be deployed mainly in naxal affected areas in the state as well as engaged in other parts of the parts of the country under emergent situations.
The eligible candidates would be selected through entrance examinations followed by physical endurance test, the release added.
