Dental checkup campaign to be launched in Punjab schools
Ludhiana Aug 21 (UNI) A special Dental Checkup Campaign would be launched in all the schools in the state to educate the students regarding the proper dental care and balanced diet, Chief Parliamentary Secretary for Medical Education and Research Sital Singh said here today.
Mr. Sital was addressing a Dental awareness function under National School Dental Health Education organized by Indian Dental Association (IDA) at KVM School here.
He said that the government was committed to improve the standard of Medical Education and health facilities in the state and funds amounting to Rs 35 crore were being spent for the up gradation of medical institutions.
He said that with a view to improve the health facilities in the rural areas, block level hospitals were being equipped with the latest medical equipment and super specialties services, so that the people could get quality treatment at the nearest places.
Mr. Sital called upon the NGOs related with health facilities and education to extent their full cooperation to the government machinery in conducting the dental Care program, so that each and every student could be covered.
