AP Cabinet approves modernisation of 7 coop sugar mills
Hyderabad, Aug 21 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet today decided to modernise seven cooperative sugar factories in the first phase at a cost of Rs 266.94 crore with assistance from the National Federation of Cooperative Sugar Factories (CSFs).
The total crushing capacities of the seven CSFs -- Chodavaram CSF, Sri Vijayarama Gajapathi CSF, Thandava CSF, Kovur CSF, Sri Venkateswara CSF, Chittoor CSF and Ankapalle CSF -- would increase from 13,450 TCD to 18,900 TCD and the co-generation capacity from 6.15 MW to 58.65 MW after modernisation and expansion, Information Minister A Ramanarayana Reddy told reporters here.
The Government also decided to convert into equity, loans and purchase tax dues from five cooperative societies -- Venkateswara CSF, Sri Vijayarama Gajapathi CSF, Kovur CSF, Chittoor CSF and Anakapalli CSF -- to the tune of Rs 78.79 crore, he informed.
