Ambanis, Nooyi in "50 who matter now" list

New Delhi, Aug 21 (UNI) The Ambani brothers, involved in a fierce intra-family rivalry, and PepsiCo Chief Executive Indra Nooyi figure in a list of '50 Who Matter Now' published by a prominent US magazine.

The list headed by Google co-founders Eric Schmidt, Larry Page and Sergey Brin, also includes Apple co-founder and CEO Steve Jobs and California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The rankings were published by Business 2.0 magazine, part of the Fortune group of publications.

The magazine took into account the choices, products, trends and ideas of the people in the list that are transforming the world of business.

Billionaire brothers Mukesh and Anil Ambani have been jointly ranked 31st in the list, while India-born Nooyi is at the 32nd position.

The magazine took note of the bitter rivalry between the Ambani brothers and said ''each seems intent on leading the group of companies he inherited from their late father in a different direction.'' ''Elder brother Mukesh is building one of the world's biggest oil refineries and has embarked on a bold plan to revolutionize Indian agriculture. Not to be outdone, flashy younger brother Anil is building one of the world's biggest power plants using clean-burning natural gas. He has also created Reliance Communications, the world's fastest-growing CDMA mobile-phone network, and has announced plans to invest billions in India's enterprise broadband network.

Imagine what these two could do if they just saw eye to eye,'' the magazine said.

Some of the others in the 50 include Paul Jacobs, CEO, Qualcomm, Rupert Murdoch CEO, News Corp, Susan Decker, President, Yahoo, John Chambers, CEO, Cisco Systems, and Katsuaki Watanabe, President, Toyota.

The list also has Randall Stephenson, Chairman and CEO, AT&T, Mark Zuckerberg, Founder and CEO, Facebook, Fake Steve Jobs, Author, Secret Diary of Steve Jobs, and Evan Williams, Founder, Twitter.
