Adoor's film to be screened in Toronto festival

Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 21 (UNI) Well known filmmaker Adoor Gopalakrishnan's 'Naalu Pennungal (four women)' will be premiered in the 'Masters section' of the Toronto International Film Festival, commencing on September six.

There would be three public screenings of the film in the festival on September ten, 12 and 14.

Special press screenings of the film along with nine other selected films would be held in New York and Los Angeles, prior to the start of the festival, a release said here today.

Based on celebrated Malayalam author Thakazhi Sivasankara Pillai's four short stories, the film narrates the story of women from four different stratas of society.
