Woman, 2 kids killed in cylinder blast

Chennai, Aug 20 (UNI) A woman and her two children were allegedly killed in a cylinder blast, which the police suspect to be a suicide pact, at suburban Porur here today.

The woman's husband, who suffered serious burns, was admitted to hospital.

Police said the blast occurred at the residence of one Mohanasundaram.

The house was engulfed in fire and the neighbours hearing the blast sound, admitted them to a hospital.

His wife Geetha and two of his children were declared brought dead.

Since the gas cylinder, with a broken lid, was found inside the bedroom, police suspected it to be a suicide bid.
