WeP takes up major expansion plans
Bangalore, Aug 20 (UNI) WeP Peripherals Ltd, one of India's largest employee-owned companies producing, has taken up major expansion works at its two facilities in Himachal Pradesh and Karnataka to augment manufacturing capacity.
One of the top names in IT peripherals, the company has also diversified into providing one stop information management and information protection solutions.
Speaking to UNI after signing an MoU with Norway-based Tandberg Data to become its master distributor of RDX QuikStor removable storage products, WeP Managing Director and CEO Ram N Agarwal said the company will add 60,000 sq ft of additional space at a cost of Rs 15 crore in its Nalagarh facility in Himachal Pradesh in a month's time to scale up its production of printers, print heads and UPS.
''In our Mysore facility, we are adding 40,000 sq ft more at a cost of Rs ten crore in the next six months.
We are funding the expansion through internal accruals and there is no plan to go public yet,'' Mr Agarwal, one of the founding members of Wipro's Pheriperals System Division before launching WeP, said.
WeP posted a revenue of Rs 370 crore last year, which included a PAT of Rs three crore. Its two facilities at present had a capacity to produce 6.5 lakh products and ten lakh consumable per annum.
