Undertrial attempts suicide in court

Jodhpur, Aug 20(UNI) An undertrial, accused of rape, attempted suicide in a court today by sliting his throat.

According to police, the incident took place at a fast track court of Judge Brajendra Dagra, hearing a rape case. The incident followed the completion of the victim's statement in the court against the accused, Baburam, in an in-camera hearing of the case.

Police said Baburam, feeling guilty over the crime, tried to slit his throat with a blade he had kept with him.

Police swung into action and overpowered Baburam. He was rushed to hospital but was later discharged.
