Three day stock taking exercise of Mah cong from tomorrow

Mumbai, Aug 20 (UNI) Amid reports about a change of guard in government and state units, a three-day stock taking exercise of Maharashtra Congress will begin here tomorrow with AICC general secretary Margaret Alva meeting party ministers, legislators and office-bearers.

The series of meetings will be held at the Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh's official residence 'Varsha' and Sahaydri guest house from August 21 to 23.

Congress sources said Mrs Alva is expected to meet all party ministers, legislators and officebearers individually. She will interact with the ministers at Sahaydri guest house throughout the day tomorrow and the Congress co-ordination committee meeting will be held at 'Varsha' in the evening.

On August 22, there will be a meeting of all legislators at Sahaydri and the congress manifesto meeting will take place at Varsha.

On August 23, the Congress-NCP co-ordination committee meeting will take place at 1000 hrs at Varsha. Mrs Alva will be present along with Chief Minister Deshmukh,senior congress leaders, Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil and other senior NCP leaders.

Congress sources, say that the exercise is aimed at strengthening the state unit and facilitating better co-ordination between the party and the government as well as its ally NCP.
