Silver opens up, gold down
Mumbai, Aug 20: A mixed trend was today witnessed in precious metals, as silver opened higher by Rs 35 per kg on strong global advice, while gold slipped by Rs 45 per ten gm, due to poor demand from ornament makers, traders at the Bombay Bullion Association said.
Following are the opening rates of spot silver and gold: Silver (per kg).999 fineness grade: Rs 16,995, Gold (per 10 gm): Gold 99.5 purity standard mint : Rs 8,805, Gold 99.9 purity pure Gold : Rs 8,855.
