Select Tech signs MoU with Tandberg to sell storage system
Bangalore, Aug 20(UNI) Network solutions provider Select Technologies (ST) today signed an MoU with Tandberg Data (TD) to distribute RDX QuikStor, a cartridge-based removable storage system that offers rugged, reliable and convenient storage for backup, archive, data interchange and disaster discovery.
ST, a division of WeP Peripherals, a leading player in Information protection and Management solutions and services, would market RDX QuikStor to SMEs and small office home office (SOHO) markets in India through channel partners.
Speaking to media persons after signing the MoU, WeP CEO and MD Ram N Agarwal said, "Tandberg Data is an emergent brand in India and the agreement with TD(Asia) adds further value to our current portfolio. With this tie up we could provide superior storage products and solutions." TD (Asia) MD Raymond Kang said TD had a market share 17 per cent in India after it entered the country's market four years ago and ST would now hold exclusive rights to sell its products in the country.
"We are placed in the third position in removable storage system.
RDX QuikStor is the only backup technology that offers the best of tape and hard disk at a small price. We see significant demand and sales growth for our product in India.
RDX QuikStor cartridge capacity ranges in 40, 80, 120 and 160 GB and future generation would follow the roadmap of 2.5 inch mobile hard disk drives, Mr Kang added.
