SC appoints A A Halbe as the Joint Administrator, Lilavati Hospital

New Delhi, Aug 20 (UNI) The Supreme Court today appointed retired Bombay High Court judge, Justice A A Halbe, as Joint Administrator of Lilavati hospital in Mumbai in place of Dr K Ramamurthy who had expressed his inability to continue in the post due to his ailing health.

A bench comprising Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan and Justice R V Raveendran passed the order after the two sides failed to arrive at a consensus on the name of the person to replace Dr Ramamurthy.

The leading hospital of Mumbai is locked in a family dispute in which two factions are fighting for control of the hospital and Dr Narendra Trivedi, another administrator, is the choice of the majority faction.

UNI
