Rajiv Gandhi's birth anniversary observed as Sadbhavna Diwas

Agartala, Aug 20 (UNI) The 64th birth anniversary of former prime minister late Rajiv Gandhi was today observed in Tripura as Sadbhavna Diwas.

A rally was organised by the Tripura Renewable Energy Development Agency(TREDA) this morning from the Sukanta Academy here. School students have also participated in the rally.

State Science and Techology Minister Badal Chowdhury also attended the rally that paraded the main thoroughfares of the city.

The main agenda was to decrease pressure on non-renewable energy and increase dependence on renewable energy.

The Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee(TPCC) and its other organisations have also marked the occasion with various programmes.

The Congress party had also arranged a blood donation camp, and distribution of clothes, fruits and sweets among the poor and organised 'daridra narayan seva' today in various parts of the state to mark the occassion.
