Rail traffic affected between Howrah and Nagpur
Nagpur, Aug 20 (UNI) Rail traffic between Howrah and Nagpur was affected following derailment of a goods train in Chakradharpur Division of South Eastern Railway (SER) today.
Three trains on the route had been cancelled, while several others were running behind schedule as they had been diverted, according to a Central Railway (CR) press release here.
The 2810 Howrah-Mumbai Mail, the 2834 Howrah-Ahmedabad Express and the 8030 Shalimar-Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) Express, all scheduled to leave today, had been cancelled, the release said.
The 2102 Howrah-LTT Dnyaneshwari Express, the 2130 Howrah-Pune Azad Hind Express and the 2810 Howrah-Mumbai Mail had been diverted along Hatia, Muri, Barkakana, Gamoh, Katni, Itarsi and Nagpur, and were running indefinitely late.
The 2834 Howrah-Ahmedabad Express had been diverted via Hatia, Muri, Barkakana, Gamoh, Katni, Itarsi, Bhusaval, Jalgaon and Surat, and would, therefore, not touch Nagpur, it said.
Several wagons of a goods train derailed between Garpos and Tangramunda stations on Chakradharpur division early this morning, it said, adding that there were boulders and water on the tracks, affecting traffic.
