OREDA observes renewable energy day in orissa

Bhubaneswar, Aug 20 (UNI) Orissa Renewable Energy Development Agency (OREDA) today organised rallies, human chain, seminars and held various competitions among the students all over the state as part of the celebration of Rajiv Gandhi Akshya Urja Divas.

OREDA celebrating the day after the Central government decided to observe August 20, the birth anniversary of late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi as Renewable Energy Day.

Official sources here said the state level functions - essay, debate, drawing and quiz competitions, seminar, marathon and women's football exhibition match - were organised by OREDA here.

The district level functions were organised by the District Collectors in all 30 districts of the state in a bid to educate the people about different renewable energy sources and their uses in day-to-day life of the people.
