No ATR on Sachar Committee report on minorities: Dasmunsi

New Delhi, Aug 20 (UNI) The government is not preparing any action taken report (ATR) on the Justice Sachar Committee report on minorities as it was not a Commission.

Responding to the concerns expressed by Mr Rupchand Pal (CPI-M) and other Left members during zero hour, Mr Dasmunsi said the government would, however, present all the details relating to the implementation of the committee's recommendations during the proposed debate in the House.

The government was fully aware of its responsibilities with regard to minorities, he added.

Mr Pal said the committee had submitted its report in November 2006 and regretted that there was not even an ATR from the government.

Mr Hannan Mollah and Mr Mohammad Salim (both CPI-M) associated themselves on the issue.
