700 pilgrims leave for Buddha Amarnath

Jammu, Aug 20: A second batch of around 700 pilgrims left for Baba Buddha Amarnath, close to the Line of Control in bordering district of Poonch, from the Ved Mandir complex here this morning.

Chanting hymns and slogans, more than 636 pilgrims left for Chattani Baba in 23 vehicles, including 14 buses and nine light motor vehicles (LMV), from Ved Mandir while 60 more pilgrims, in one bus, joined the convoy at Akhnoor.

The pilgrims will reach Poonch by evening and will leave tomorrow early in the morning for Buddha Amarnath to have the darshan of Lord Shiva's lingam there, the VHP said in a release.
