Bihar: Maoits gun down 3 members of a family

Chhapra, Aug 20: Atleast forty activists of proscribed CPI Maoits attacked the residents of Block Promukh Guddu Sharma and killed three members of his family at Machhahi village under Maker police station area in Saran district late tonight.

Deputy police superintendent A.K.Lal said that about 40 Maoists activists armed with sophisticated weapons, attacked the residents of Mr Sharma and opened fire indiscriminately. His wife along with uncle and a bodyguard was killed in the incident, he added.

'' Massive manhunt has been launched in the area to nab the extremists '', he said adding additional reinforcement was being rushed to the spot.

'' The situation is tense but under control '', Mr Lal claimed.
