Left urges CM to constitute a special Land Commission

Hyderabad, Aug 20 (UNI) Communist Party of India (Marxist) Andhra Pradesh Assistant Secretary Y Venkateswara Rao today said the Left parties have urged Chief Minister Y S Rajasekahra Reddy to constitute a 'Special Land Commission' to implement the recommendations of K Ranga Rao Land Committee Report in the state.

Talking to newspersons, after a meeting with the Chief Minister at the Secretariat here, Mr Rao said the Left parties had submitted a report on the modalities for the constitution of a Land Commission.

He also said Dr Reddy had informed them that the Commission would be set up after taking a legal opinion.

The Left parties had also urged Dr Reddy to appoint a retired IAS officer as incharge of the Commission, he added.
