Kumaraswamy calls Congress for open debate
Gulbarga, Aug 20 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy today challenged the opposition Congress for an open debate on the developmental works taken up during their regime and the present JD (S)-BJP coalition government.
Addressing a public meeting at Surpur, near here, Mr Kumaraswamy criticised the Congress for its false propaganda against the present coalition government in the State.
He questioned Opposition leader Dharam Singh and KPCC President Mallikarjun Kharge what did they do during the last 25 years for the development of the state.
Mr Kumaraswamy alleged that Mr Singh and Kharge have been MLAs for the last 25 years but did nothing for the development of their region. The people will realise the difference between the Congress and the JD(S)-BJP coalition government.
The Chief Minister announced that Rs 25 crores would be released to renovate temples which are in bad condition in Surpur taluk and also announced formation of Surpur Development Committee.
Taking strong objection to BJP taking credit for banning lottery and sale of arrack in the State, Mr Kumaraswamy said that the credit should go to him only.
Mr Kumaraswamy assured that he would ensure that there would be no huts in the state by constructing pucca houses for the poor.
