Jaipur, Aug 20 (UNI) Congress state president B D Kalla today sought audio-video records of the function organised by Congress MLA Bhanwar Lal Sharma led Rajasthan Brahmin Mahasabha here yesterday to felicitate BSP leader Satish Misra.

Talking to UNI here, Mr Kalla said he had summoned the video CDs and other record of the function to study the speeches of the leaders and participants including Mr Sharma and Mr Mishra.

He said the Congress was keeping an eye over the ongoing developments and would intervene only if prima facie case of party indiscipline was found against anyone, including Mr Sharma.

Mr Kalla said he himself would review the CDs and listen to the speeches delivered by the leaders at the function.

The leadership of the Rajasthan Brahmin Mahasabha, which has been spearheading a campaign for economic status based reservation benefits to needy people of higher castes, has been maintaining a close rapport with BSP leadership for sometime.

Mahasabha leader and sitting Congress MLA Bhanwar Lal Sharma had also held a couple of meetings with BSP supremo and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati and Mr Misra.

These meetings had evoked speculations in political circles about Mr Sharma's efforts for exploring greater role for himself in BSP's ''new social engineering'' during the next assembly elections in Rajasthan.

However, Mr Sharma has denied reports of his political links with BSP and said the Brahmin Mahasabha was a non-political outfit and his efforts for securing reservation benefits for poor in higher castes was purely a non-political affair.

He said neither his outfit, nor himself, were inclined to have any any political allegiance with BSP.
