Improve medical facilities in WB to contain anthrax: Adhir

New Delhi, Aug 20 (UNI) Mr Adhir Chowdhury (Cong) today sought in the Lok Sabha better medical facilities and infrastructure to check the spread of anthrax disease in West Bengal.

Poor people eating the meat of anthrax-hit bovine animals were also becoming victims of the disease, Mr Chowdhury said, raising the issue during zero hour.

The Centre, in consultation with the governments of West Bengal and other states, should take effective measures to prevent the prevalence of anthrax, he said.
