Dutt to spend another day in Yerawada jail

Pune, Aug 20 (UNI) Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt, who was granted interim bail in the 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts case by the Supreme Court today, will have to spend one more day in the Yerawada jail here since legal formalities would take a day to be completed.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Kedari told mediapersons that the interim bail order would have to be first submitted at the Special TADA Court which would then be forwarded here.

''No xerox copy is admissible. Dutt would need to submit his jail clothes and any other things before leaving the jail premises,'' he clarified.

Dutt has been lodged at the Yerwada jail since Aug 1, after Special TADA Judge P D Kode convicted him to six years rigorous imprisonment under the Arms Act, for keeping an assault rifle, AK-56 and a pistol at his residence in a notified area.

Meanwhile, eversince the electronic media flashed news of Sanjay's interim bail, hundreds of fans have begun to throng outside the jail. Security has been beefed up as more people are expected to gather in anticipation of getting a glimpse of their hero.
