Ranchi, Aug 20 (UNI) The NDA-led Opposition today stalled proceedings of the House over a corruption issue, forcing Speaker Alamgir Alam to repeatedly adjourn the house and ultimately for the day.

The House, which witnessed three adjournments triggered by noisy scene in the first half of the session, could only see introduction of the Rs 442.717-crore supplementary budget for the current fiscal by Finance Minister Stephen Marand.

As the House reassemlbed after the recess, the Opposition pressed hard for a reply from Chief Minister Madhu Koda regarding a news item published in local Hindi daily today. The daily said a person collected more than Rs 200 crore from the market in the name of the Chief Minister during the past few months.

The Speaker's repeated pleas to the members to resume their seats did not yield any result and after nearly half-an-hour of pandemonium, the Speaker adjourned the House for the day.

No other business could be taken up.

Earlier in the day, pandemonium broke loose as the Opposition did not allow any business over the issue forcing adjournment for three times leading to total lapse of question hour without a single question raised.
