Hoshiarpur, Aug 20 (UNI) The quick wit and courage of a nine-year-old boy and timely help by a tea stall owner foiled an attempt of his abduction by two motorcycle-borne unidentified kidnappers here this afternoon.

Budh Nath, father of Dikshant, a farmer-cum-property dealer, told media persons that Dikshant and his sister were waiting outside the school gate for their cousin, when they first noticed that two motorcycle-borne youths were keeping a close watch on them.

However, when their cousin joined them, the three children began walking to their houses in local Mohalla Katcha Toba.

On the way, at a crossing, the aforesaid unidentified youths suddenly came close to them and the pillion rider tried to lift Dikshant.

However, showing both presence of mind and courage, Dikshant pushed him with full force and rushed to a nearby tea stall located at the corner of the crossing and raised an alarm.

Veer Singh, the tea stall owner, also raised an alarm and ran towards kidnappers but they fled in panic.

On receiving information, police also reached the spot and had launched a massive hunt to nab the kidnappers.
