Bihar Mahila Udyog launches its website

Patna, Aug 20 (UNI) In a landmark achievement, the Bihar Mahila Udyog Sangh has emerged as the first self-employed women association in the state to go online.

Working on women emancipation as well as strengthening the causes of small scale industries in the state, the association had luanched its website here today.

Addressing the function in a promotional campaign here at SCADA Buisness Centre, Bihar Science and Technology Minister Anil Kumar said the role played by women in the state to promote small scale industries was commendable.

Their contribution towards the promotion of Mithila and Madhubani paintings and arts and crafts, especially handicrafts, had earned them recognition not only in the state but across the nation.

He maintained that the state government was committed towards the promotion of Mahila Udyog to strengthen the causes of women empowerment.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA and Chief whip of the ruling JD(U) in the state Shravan Kumar said women were really committed to the progress of the small scale industries, and added that they only needed government assistance for the promotion of the products they were working on.

He urged the financial institutions to come ahead in providing assistance to the Mahila Udyog in the state.

State Bank of India, Bihar unit's Chief General Manager(CGM) D K Jain assured of extending financial assistance to the Mahila Udyog.

Pushpa Chopra, president of Mahila Udyog, said the objective behind the launching of website was to earn recognition as well as promotion of arts and crafts in the international market.
