Ashok Malhotra remanded to day CBI custody
New Delhi, Aug 20: A city court today remanded main accused in the slum rehabilitation racket Ashok Malhotra to three-day CBI custody.
Special CBI judge Special Judge S K Kaushik sent Malhotra in the custody in connection with the Molarband resettlement scheme, which involves more than 700 plots.
The court also remanded Malhotra's aide and Manager of the Vidhan Sabha Canteen R S Sandhu to CBI custody.
Yesterday, MCD Deputy Director Dilip Topo was sent into 4-day CBI custody by the court.
Malhotra has been accused of selling plots worth several crores using fraudulent means.
He would procure authorisation slips for the plots meant for allotment to slum dwellers whose slums had been demolished and then sell away the plots at exorbitant rates.
