AP CM to lay foundation stone of NALSAR campus on Sep 5

Hyderabad, Aug 20 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy will lay the foundation for the campus of the National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR) at Kadapa on September 5.

Two more NALSAR campuses would be set up at Visakhapatnam and Nizamabad for providing five-year integrated law course after Intermediate, a press release said here.

The decision in this regard was taken at a meeting chaired by Dr Reddy with Law and Technical Education Minister R Chenga Reddy, Higher Education Minister D Srinivas, Finance Minister K Rosaiah, Revenue Minister D Prasada Rao and other officials at Secretariat today.

About 50 acres of land would be provided to each campus, besides corpus fund of Rs ten crore. It was also decided to provide a sum of Rs 60 crore to each of the three campuses for the first five years.

The successful students of the course would be awarded BA LLB (Hons) degree, the release said, adding that competition would be held at an All India level to get admission in this course.

Work on the Kadapa campus would be over by July 2008, while work on the other two campuses would be completed by July 2009, the release added.
