'UNPA ready to face mid-term poll', says TDP

Hyderabad, Aug 19 (UNI) Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President and former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today said the newly formed United National Progressive Alliance (UNPA) was ready to face a mid-term poll in the country.

Talking to newspersons after reviewing the political situation with the Politburo members at the party office here, Mr Naidu said 'if the country is pushed to a mid-term poll, we are ready to face it'. However, the UNPA was ready to face election any time.

Demanding that the Centre allow a comprehensive discussion on US nuclear agreement in Parliament, he said 'long-term interest of the country is important. We have to protect our sovereignty'.
