Two bodies recovered in Thane Dist

Thane, Aug 19 (UNI) The Thane Rural police today recovered two bodies, including a police Head Constable, in the district.

In an incident, a mutilated body of a middle-aged man, with his arms and legs chopped off, was found abandoned at a village in Ganeshpuri, the temple town, police said.

The motive behind the murder is yet to be ascertained, they added.

In another incident, a highly decomposed body of a police Head constable, attached to the Mumbra police station, was found in the police quarters in the town today.

Police have identified the deceased as Anil Pawar (42).

He was unwell since the last four to five months and stayed alone.

When a foul smell began emitting from his room since the last four to five days, the neighbours became suspicious and informed the police, who arrived and broke open the door only to find the constable lying dead, police added.
