Top Hizb Commander among 5 killed, infiltration bid foiled in JK

Srinagar, Aug 19 (UNI) A top commander of Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) and two security personnel were among five people killed while an infiltration bid was foiled in Jammu and Kashmir overnight.

A police spokesman said ''A'' catagory commander of HM Fayaz alias Zubair was killed in a police encounter at Marhama-Beijbehara in south Kashmir this evening.

He said another Pak-trained militant Fayaz Ahmad, alias Jamsheed, was also arrested.

Zubair, active in the south Kashmir for the past several years, was involved in several killings besides other militancy related incidents.
