Tarigonda Vengamamba's Vardhanti Mahotsavamulu from Aug 22

Tirupati, Aug 19 (UNI) TTD's Tarigonda Venkagamamba Vangmaya Project and Sri Venkateswara Employees Training Academy (SVETA) is jointly celebrating the 17th century saint poetess Tarigonda Vengamamba's Vardhanti Mahotsavamulu for two days from August 22 at Tirupati, Tirumala and Tarigonda in Chittoor district, the birth place of the poetess, TTD Trust Board Chairman B Karunakara Reddy said here today.

Speaking in a press conference, he said on the first day of celebrations, floral tributes would be paid at the poetess's 'Brindavanam' (Samadhi) in Tirumala at 0800 hrs and the Tarigonda Vengamamba's life-size statue would be installed by State Endowments Minister G Ratnakar Rao at 1000 hrs at Mutyalareddy palli circle in Tirupati.

In the evening a CD brought out by the TTD on the saint poetess, who has composed verses in chaste Telugu in praise of Lord Lakshminarasimha and Lord Venkateswara, would be released and a special kuchipudi roopam on her life would be enacted. It would be followed by the cultural programmes of TTDs Annamacharya artists at 1700 hrs at Mahathi Auditorium in Tirupati, he said.

On the lines of Annamachary, a website would be launched shortly on Vengamamba's history and a Sahitya Sadassu on Matrusri Vengamamba would be held at Sri Padmavathi Womens Degree college on the concluding day.
