Take action on Srikrishna Panel Report: NLTP

Hyderabad, Aug 19 (UNI) National Lok Tantrik Party President Mohd Arshad Khan today demanded immediate action against those involved in Babri Masjid demolition and submission of the Srikrishna Commission Report on 1992/93 Mumbai riots to the court.

Addressing the press here, Mr Khan claimed since Independence, minorities, particulary Muslims, were not treated properly. They were not given due rights in education and employment.

Children and women were killed mercilessly in Mumbai, Surat and other parts of the country in the riots and the 1993 Mumbai Serial blasts would have been part of a conspiracy to divide the society, he alleged.

The Srikrishna Commission, which submitted its report in 1998, indicated the involvement of many leaders of Shiv Sena who were part of the then ruling coalition in Maharashtra.

He alleged the report was kept in cold storage by the government without submitting it to the court and those involved in the riots went scot free.

Referring to Bangladesh Writer Taslima Nasreen, he claimed she was totally against Islam and should not be allowed to stay in the country. The government should not extend her visa, he added.

His party would organise a protest and dharna on September 10 at Jantar Mantar at New Delhi to press their demands and submit a memorandum to the President and Prime Minister seeking justice to the community.
