Rains continue to disrupt life in Bengal

Kolkata, Aug 19 (UNI) Incessant rain continued to affect life in many parts of the state including this metro as weathermen predicted more rains in next 24 hours in Gangetic Bengal.

A report from Purulia said rains and winds have damaged a dozen of causeways in Raghunathpur disrupting traffic in the sub-division, and at the vicinity of Santaldih power project, some 50 kms west of Purulia town.

Train services on the upline of Purulia and Tamna stations of Adra section of South Eastern Railway were restored since last night after repairing of a portion which had caved in following heavy rains on Friday night.

Met office in the city recorded about 14.4mm rainfall.

It also predicted occasional light to moderate rainfall during next 24 hours in and around the city.
