Prisoner dies under mysterious circumstances

Hardoi, Aug 19 (UNI) A prisoner died under mysterious circumstances in the district jail here.

Police today said Raju (50), booked under the Arms Act, was lodged in the jail.

Late last night, he took seriously ill and succumbed on way to hospital.

However, deceased family members had alleged Raju was beaten up by the policemen.

Meanwile, the body had been sent for postmortem.
