President, PM extend greetings on Parsi new year

New Delhi, Aug 19 (UNI) President Pratibha Devisingh Patil and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today extended their greetings and good wishes to the people of the country on the occasion of Navroz, the Parsi new year, which is being celebrated tomorrow.

In her message, Mrs Patil said Navroz festival was symbolic of composite culture of India.

''May the festival bring joy and happiness to our people and instill cultural pluralism and harmony,'' the President said.

Greeting especially the members of the Parsi community on the joyous occasion of Navroz, the Prime Minister said Navroz is a festival of renewal and happiness. He hoped that the new year would bring joy, happiness and prosperity to all Parsis and to the nation.
