Over 4 lakh sheep insured: CM

Mahaboobnagar, Aug 19 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Government has provided insurance to 4.70 lakh sheep by allocating a subsidy of Rs 80 lakh, Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy said.

Speaking to reporters here after participating in District Development review meeting, Dr Reddy said 2000 cattle were distributed to the poor during this year, under Prime Minister's package. Another 4,000 were additionally doled out.

Alleging that the previous Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Government had not constructed any irrigation projects during its nine-year rule in this district which had huge irrigation potential with the flows of Krishna and Godavari rivers, Dr Reddy said his government would complete all pending and new projects by 2008 end.
