MP CM pins hopes on Investors' Summit

Indore, Aug 19 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today claimed that a Global Investors' Summit scheduled on October 26 and 27 in the state's commercial capital would prove a milestone for encouraging investment.

''Industrialists are making a beeline for this state. The coming years will be fine ones vis-a-vis investment. Proposals amounting to Rs one lakh crore have been ayed in principle and work is underway on projects totalling Rs 29,000 crore,'' he told reporters here.

The Chief Minister claimed that a ''single-table system'' was enabling smooth sanctioning of industry projects. On vehicles being purchased in his wife's name, he said that he had nothing more to say in that regard.

Responding to a question on the Income Tax Deapartment inquiry and the Centre allegedly using the matter as a political weapon, Mr Chouhan said, ''I have nothing to hide.'' Indore's Master Plan would be implemented soon, he added.
