Miscreants set power company vehicle afire

Gangtok, Aug 19 (UNI) Unidentified miscreants set a vehicle, belonging to a private power project company, on fire last night at Development Area here, police today said.

The vehicle belonging to Himagiri private Ltd was parked in front of its rented two-storied office-cum-residence.

However, the vehicle suffered minor damage as the fire was doused out swiftly by the fire brigade.

Investigations are on and till now no arrests had been made, said police.

The locals informed that petrol was sprinkled on the vehicle and on the road leading to the office of Himagiri where the company's officials resided.

Himagiri has signed an MoU with Sikkim government to set up a 280 MW mega power project in Dzongu, North Sikkim.
