Law University faces faculty shortage
Bangalore, Aug 19 (UNI) National Law School of India University, the premier law institution in the country, is facing shortage of teaching staff.
In his welcome address at the 15th Annual Convocation here today, University Vice Chancellor A Jayagovind said though, an all-India interview was conducted for selecting the academic staff, at all levels, there were no candidates after an exhaustive interview.
''Quite a few so selected, left after some time. The academic staff situation is still not satisfactory''.
Stating that the Law university was fully depended on the state governments unlike IITs and IIMs funded by the Centre, he said ''we sincerely wish that the Central authorities respond positively to our concerns so that we may whole-heartedly engage ourselves in conducting an Admission test.'' Dr Jayagovind said the University would be hosting the international 'Client Counseling Competition' next year for the first time in India.
