Ranchi, Aug 19 (UNI) Protesting the Delimitation Commission's(DC) recommendation of reducing SC/ST Assembly and Lok Sabha seats of the state, the Jharkhand Janadhikar Manch(JJM) has called for a statewide bandh on August 21.

Party's central committee president Jagdish Lohra today told UNI that the move of reducing reserved seats was an attack on fundamental rights of tribals which would not be tolerated.

Mr Lohra said they would register their protest and pressurise the state government to do the needful so that reserved seats were not reduced.

Charging the state government of being responsible for the matter, Mr Lohra said the government should pass a resoultion during the ongoing monsoon session opposing the DC's move.

Mr Lohra said state government should make a clear stand and tell people about the assurances received from the Centre.

All the students' organistions, including Adivasi Chatra Sangh, Moolwasi Chatra Sangh and Sanyukt Chatra Morcha protesting the DC's recommendation, were supporting the bandh called by JJM.

''We are trying to ensure support from the Left parties as they have always raised their voice in favour of tribals,'' Mr Lohra added.
