Intermittent rains lash Mumbai
Mumbai, Aug 19 (UNI) After a brief lull, intermittent rains accompanied by gusty winds continued to lash the Metropolis and its suburbs since the early hours of today.
Meanwhile, the weather bureau forecast spells of rain or thundershowers in parts of the city and suburbs for the next 24 hours or so.
The total rainfall recorded for the last 24 hours till 0830 hrs today was 2.0 mm at Santacruz in north Mumbai and 15.6 mm at Colaba in south Mumbai.
The off shore trough extending from Gujarat coast to south Maharashtra coast persists along the Arabian Sea.
Light to moderate rainfall is likely to occur at a few places over central Maharashtra and at isolated places over Marathwada in the next 24 hours.
However, moderate to rather heavy rainfall is likely to hit at the most places over the Ghat areas and Konkan region during the same period.
