Freedom fighter remembered

Vijayawada, Aug 19 (UNI) Nagarjuna University Vice-Chancellor Balamohana Das released a book on the life and work of social reformer Saraswathi Gora to mark his first death anniversary.

Speaking at a seminar here today, Prof Das said Ms Gora, who was also a freedrom fighter had bridged the gulf between theory and practice and adopted an integrated approach to life. ''She was a dedicated social reformer, who fought against casteism and untouchability and stood for secularism'' he recalled.

Ms Gora, a champion of democracy and casteless society, was a staunch atheist who fought against superstitions and blind beliefs, he added.
