Erstwhile Barwani princely state's last queen passes away
Barwani, MP, Aug 19 (UNI) The last queen of the erstwhile Barwani princely state, Maharani Dilhar Kunwar, passed away in Indore last night.
She was 82.
She, wife of the erstwhile Barwani princely state's last ruler Maharaja Devi Singh, was not keeping well for the past one month.
Her funeral service was performed at Bheelkheda -- traditional crematorium of the Bheelkheda royal family -- on the banks of Narmada river near here today. Her son, Manvendra Singh, set fire to the funeral pyre.
Maharani Dilhar Kunwar was the daughter of Kutch princely state's Rana Godh Singh. She was married to Maharaja Devi Singh on May 19, 1943.
She was a graduate and was part of various social organisations throughout her life.
Several people took part in the funeral procession and paid tributes to the queen.
