Vijayawada, Aug 19(UNI) Congress legislator Devineni Rajasekhar today alleged that the CPI (M) was engaging in double-talk on land distribution in Andhra Pradesh.

Speaking at a press conference here he said, though the CPI (M) leaders had agreed on land distribution and housing scheme in an all-party meeting convened by the district collector recently, they were now staging agitation over the issue.

Mr Rajasekhar, also a former Minister, said the CPI (M) had accepted the proposal of the administration to conduct a survey for identifying the prospective beneficiaries of housing scheme in all the 59 divisions in the city. The ongoing land accupying agitations were against the spirit of their earlier stand, he added.

Of the 15,000 houses allotted in the city under the JNNURM scheme, 5,000 houses were under construction, he added.
