Catholic forum demands apology from Salman Amrita Arora

Mumbai, Aug 19 (UNI) City-based Christian activist organization, Catholic Secular Forum (CSF), today demanded an apology from Bollywood actors Salman Khan and Amrita Arora for hurting the sentiments of the Catholic community.

Earlier, a media report had claimed that Salman Khan planned to gift a painting of the 'The Last Supper' to fellow actor Amrita Arora, where the former will paint the latter's family members instead of Christ and his Apostles.

The report also speculated on who will sit at the center of the table, in place of Christ and who will be at the side.

Joseph Dias, General Secretary of the forum, said ''The image of the ''The Last Supper' is revered by the Catholic community and this act is an insult to Christianity, hurting the sentiments of the community at large''.

The CSF has sent a letter of protest to the actor's residence and demanded an apology, failing which the forum will hold a demonstration outside the home of Arora and would initiate legal action against Khan, he maintained.

Incidentally, actor Amrita Arora is the younger sister of Salman's sister-in-law, Malaika Arora Khan.

Meanwhile, the actors were unavailable for their comments even after repeated attempts to contact them.
