Building collapse kills one, one injured

Kolkata, Aug 19 (UNI) A portion of a four-storeyed abandoned building at Strand road in Central Kolkata collapsed today killing one person and injuring another.

The Municipal Corporation official of the city said a portion of of the dilapidated building collapsed due to incessant rain.

Police said the deceased, Nanda Kishore, used to run a saloon on pavement and was killed after getting trapped under the debris.

The injured was identified as Sita Ram Yadav, police added.

Remaining portions of the building would be demolished soon to avert further accident, the municipal authorities stated.
